Fundraising Ideas That Require Little to No Walker Investment

CARWASH - Ask your local gas station, get a bunch of friends to come and help you, and make a very visable sign! Local businesses may be willing to donate supplies.

IN STORE DISPLAY - Align yourself with a high traffic store, set up a good display, poster, etc, put on your shirt and approach people with "May I tell you why I'm in the store today?" Ask the men too! Try a lingerie shop!

GIFT - Instead of birthday, housewarming, or wedding gifts, ask family and friends to donate. When their turn rolls around, donate in their name and send them a beautiful card.

JEANS WEEK - Can you have a jeans week at work? $2 per day buys the right to wear jeans.

HOMEMADE COOKIES at work for $1 each

GARAGE SALE - Ask those that say they can't donate cash to donate their unwanted items instead. At the sale be sure to tell everyone what you are doing and have lots of logo signs up as well. Have them make checks directly to your event.

HQ - Personalize yours and then send an email to everyone you know with a link to it.

CORPORATE SPONSORS

SUPER BOX - Ask all your friends and relatives to put their extra change in it. Pick it up on a predetermined date and count your donations!

FIREMEN - Go to your local Firehouses and ask the firemen there to donate

CHANGE BUCKETS at work, at home, at the local coffee shop

SEND 2nd or 3rd or 4th letters

SCRAPBOOKING crop event

SELL body parts for the event. Magic marker each name on the appropriate part...$25 for an arm, $50 for a leg, $100 per foot, etc.

OFFER to temp dye your hair bright pink for the walk ... for the right price

LEMONADE stand

ASK your regular grocery store, deli, cafe etc for a donation. If they give you a gift certificate use the gift certificate next time you shop and donate the amount of the gift certificate in the store's name.

WEAR your shirt everywhere you go and CARRY your forms with you. You never know who will ask you about what you are doing. Don't forget to carry forms with you on training walks.

POST information in your local gym's locker room (with permission)

TREADMILL outside of your local grocery store with a table explaining what you are training for and a donation jar.

TALK to everyone about what you are doing. Tell your story. The more you talk about your upcoming adventure, the more people will share in that excitement and want to donate to you.

TRIBUTE Donation - A donation made to honor or in memory of someone. Make pink ribbons with these names and carry them with you on your event.

VOICEMAIL - Change your voicemail and answering machine messages to include what you are doing and the website address for donations.

LABELS - Create return address label that sate "I'm walking in the Breast Cancer 3 Day. Will you sponser me?"

CHAT ROOMS - Post a message in a chat room on the internet.

WAITERS - Ask the waiters and waitresses in your favorite restaurant if they will donate one day's tips.

HAPPY HOUR - Where your t shirt to your local Happy Hour and ask people to sign it for $10. Ask the bartender to announce you are there.

DELEGATE - Give 10 friends 10 donation forms ans them to get donations for you.

COLOR donation forms - Print your donation forms on colored paper so it will stick out in a stack of bills.

SIGN your correspondence with your walk information.

BUSINESS CARDS - Make up business cards with walk information, your name and the website address. Hand them out to everyone you meet.

ASK - Your: Doctor, Dentist, Chiropractor, Therapist, Yoga Instructor, Personal Trainer, Lawyer, Insurance Agent, Vet, Hair Dresser, Florist, 3rd cousin twice removed, the guy you bought your car from....

RADIO STATION - Call your favorite radio station and ask them to make an announcement on air and to interview you. People can donate online.

HAIR SALON - Ask your hair salon if they would donate $2 of each haircut over a weekend to you.

FREE RENT - Get your apartment complext to donate one months rent to sponsor you.

ERRAND BOY - Offer to be your friends and coworkers personal assistant for a day in exchange fora $250 donation.

NEWSPAPER - Get an article in your local newspaper.

WATER the garden or any other chores you would normally do for free for neighbors, friends or family. This time leave a donation form and ask them for a donation.

KARAOKE - Collect a donation for each song you sing...or don't sing!

SELL SPACE on your tshirt for $20 and allow donors to write a tribute to you, a friend or a loved one.

IN MEMORY OF - If you are walking in memory of a loved one include a photo of you with that loved one in your donation letter, on posters, etc.
