The first batch of letters to local businesses asking for auction items went out today. I'm still working on another pile of them. Cross your fingers!

I also sent out a batch of update newsletters this week. My goal is to get the rest of them out this weekend....again...cross your fingers!

Donations for the garage sale are starting to come in. I put a couple fliers up at work and I've had good response so far.

Now for my favorite donation story so far...Bjorg and I went to the hockey game on Wed night. When we got there we realized that we didn't have a $5 bill to pay for parking. While we're trying to dig up enough change to pay for parking we noticed a couple of gentlemen in the same situation. I remembered that I had my checkbook in the car and started to write out a check for parking. The gentlemen asked if I would do the same for them and then they'd give me $5 once we got inside and they'd broke a $20. I started to say yes and then instead Bjorg and I explained that we were walking this summer to raise money for breast cancer. We asked if instead of paying me for parking they would be willing to donate the $20 to the cause. They weren't too sure until I handed them a fundraising business card I had on me. I must have looked legit because over came the $20. They even told us how great it was that we were willing to walk. Totally cool!
