Whidbey was great! We had a great group of walkers that really helped to make the weekend extra special.

Friday night we walked the bluff trail arriving at the beach just in time for a near perfect sunset. Back in camp we visited for a bit and then crawled into our respective sleeping bags. I know that that in itself was an adventure for a few of the campers as it had been years since they'd slept in a tent!

Saturday dawned overcast but not raining (yah) and after a yummy breakfast, we made our way to the Keystone ferry parking lot to set out on 16 or 22 miles. Before we left we did "decorate" my hubby's truck with pink ribbon magnets so he'd be easy to see as he drove by. Lunch was served by him and our friend Jack and then them served as our support crew for the rest of the afternoon...generally showing up just exactly when and where they were needed! The majority of the group finished 22 miles (I'm so impressed) and then headed back to camp for a welcome shower.

After a really yummy dinner most walkers turned in early to get ready for Sunday's camp breakdown and walk.

Sunday we again were blessed with perfect walking weather. Most of us completed 8 miles with a few hardy souls completing 12 miles before heading for home.

As usual I am so impressed and inspired by the type of person that would take on a challenge like this event. I met some truly wonderful walkers and I'm already looking forward to next year's campout!
