Wow! What a weekend!

Saturday I got up bright and (very) early and headed up to Gold Bar to walk Wallace Lake. I had 13 walkers make the trek with me. I really like this walk/hike. It's 11 miles up and 11 miles down on forest paths and logging roads. It can be a bit rough on the feet but the lack of cars and abundance of scenery and fresh air make it well worth it! I did have a couple of walkers take a detour on the way down but all made it home safe and sound after 22.5 miles!

My next stop was a houseparty/auction on Camano Island. The attendance wasn't quite what the walker had hoped for, but we raised $1017 with only 8 pledges for her! YAH!

Sunday dawned bright and (too) early. I have to admit that the very last place I wanted to be was leading a training walk. I wasn't sore as much as I was just done training. I did however lead 12 walkers through Mukilteo and into Everett for a total of 20 miles. We stopped and had a very pleasant Mexican lunch in Everett. The waitstaff were great and the best part was that we got to sit outside! Picture 12 rather fragrant walkers after walking 13 miles is the 85 degree heat. You get the picture!

After a quick shower I headed off to speak at another houseparty. I don't have the total yet from this one yet, but the attendance was great and the response very positive. I can't wait to get the phone call with the total!

There are only 17 days left til the walk now and I'm so ready. I'm excited, confident with my level of training, and just want to hurry up and DO IT! I think the next couple weeks have the potential to be much longer than I want them to be!
