Hi Penny, I sent you an email several months ago and I must have an old address as I did not hear back from you. I was writing to touch base and let you know that on January 9th I found a lump in my breast and was diagnosed with breast cancer on Jan. 20th. Since then I have had a lumpectomy (1/2" lump), 4 sessions of Chemo and now about half way through with 33 sessions of radiation. Penny, I feel very blessed throughout this entire journey. I have had an outpouring of support from family and friends. Chemo was easy on me and now my hair is growing back. I think back to the Whidbey Island walk and what a great experience that was. I would have loved to participate this year to share with all those fabulous people however my energy level isn't what it usually is and I am learning to really take care of myself. It was so good to read your website and see all that you are doing for this cause. I applaud your efforts. Please tell all who came to Portland for last summer's Avon Walk hello for me.
